This trip to LA fell on the best weekend, July 4th. It seems Americans get more excited about this day than any other and everyone gets involved to make it a memorable one.
I get itchy feet if I’m not going through airport departure gates, sad but true! After so long working on a travel show I now enjoy going back to some of the places I filmed at and enjoying them at my own pace and spending more time in the places that had an impact on me. One of those places is Laos. I regularly hop on a plane to Asia and throw myself into an Adventure. Laos in South-east Asia is bordered by Burma and people’s Republic of China to the northwest, Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the south, and Thailand to the west.
Virgin Atlantic has reached the “dirty thirties” and as part of the celebration Richard Branson last weekend offered Londoners the chance to drop everything, jump in a taxi and jet off to the Big Apple for a free weekend trip!
The brilliant business man has also successfully launched airlines in three continents, with Virgin Australia and Virgin America going strong alongside Virgin Atlantic. He credits his “amazing staff” for giving Virgin the edge on their competitors. Virgin continue ploughing profits into developing clean fuels and Branson believes the future looks bright for the next 30 years. [Read more...]
My Mum lives interstate, and when she comes to visit me in Sydney I always organise something special. I’ll normally take her out to a great restaurant or a trip out on the harbour, try to spoil her a little. This weekend I planned a couple of days of utter indulgence and I do believe locked in the title “daughter of the year”.
I picked Mum up from the airport and we headed straight to The Darling at The Star. We were met by the extremely friendly staff and shown to our impressive suite. Excited we leapt on the bed, felt the sheets, admired the swanky bathroom, studied the view, played with the high-tech tv remote which also opened and closed the curtains and regulated the temperature!
These three unique stays are a kids dream come true! I wish my parents had known about them when I was a little one…in saying that, you’re never too old right?! I’ll be poolside at LEGOLAND HOTEL!
LEGOLAND HOTEL, Carlsbad, USA
Legoland is only footsteps away but you will have a hard time dragging the kids from this super cool hotel! Located in Carlsbad, which is on the coast between Los Angeles and San Diego this place is going to be a hit with any lego-loving kiddie. Rooms are available with kingdom, adventure or pirate themes. In the hotel, they can hang out in interactive play areas and enjoy treasure hunts.
You can’t visit the Big Apple without shopping! I mean, you just CAN’T!
On a recent trip to LA I was asked to join a group of friends on a trip to Mexico. Yelapa they said. “Sure” I said! “Where” I thought!? After a little research I discovered Yelapa, Mexico is a beach town in Cabos Corrientes, Jalisco Mexico and I couldn’t wait to explore it! The village lies in the southernmost cove of the world’s seventh largest bay, Bahia de Banderas…bring it on!
If you’re anything like me you’ll love designing your own adventure. Locking in hotels and mapping out your journey is the fun part, booking a flight however can be stressful especially if the price isn’t right!
Here’s a list of the very best tips for finding the cheapest flights:
